Anthony Edwards is one of the NBA’s rising stars, and he has improved his production each season ever since he was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 draft.
He is fresh off winning a gold medal in the Summer Olympics with Team USA men’s basketball, and his Minnesota Timberwolves are hoping to build off of a successful 2023-24 season in which they reached the Western Conference Finals.
Many feel Edwards will inevitably win a league MVP award at some point, and according to ESPN Bet, Edwards only has the sixth-best odds to do so this coming season.
But ESPN personality Kendrick Perkins says that Edwards has the best chance of winning the MVP this season, and Perkins also said he wouldn’t be surprised if Edwards leads the league in scoring.

This past season, Edwards averaged 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists a game for a Timberwolves team that finished with a 56-26 record while being picked to be on the All-Star team for the second time.
Many have compared him to the legendary Michael Jordan for his combination of athleticism and volume-scoring ability.
Edwards said not too long ago that he will become the best player in the world within a few years, and while his play in last spring’s playoffs was a bit up and down, if he continues on his current trajectory, he could make good on that statement.
One of his most impressive attributes is the fact that he’s also an excellent defender, an attribute Jordan was also known for, and that will only help his chances of winning a league MVP award.
