For years, the New York Knicks were missing a true floor general.
Besides a shortage of stars, the Knicks suffered without a legitimate starting-caliber point guard, but those woes have finally come to an end.
Jalen Brunson has proven to be everything they wanted him to be and even more.
He’s taken the league by storm, and even those who called the Knicks out for the big contract they gave him have no choice but to tip their hats to him.
As a matter of fact, former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins recently went as far as to calling him the best point guard in the game right now.
Talking on ESPN’s “First Take,” Perkins stated that he wouldn’t take any point guard over him right now, adding that he didn’t mean to disrespect Stephen Curry or Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Brunson, however, is the best floor general and floor manager in the game right now, says Perkins, with perhaps only Luka Doncic — who he called a point forward — ahead of him.
Perkins lauded Brunson for the way he’s been able to put the Knicks on his shoulders to keep the ship afloat despite their plethora of injuries, and he pointed out how much Mike Brown and Draymond Green have praised him after facing him.
Brunson might not be the flashiest player in the game, but he’s definitely one of the most intelligent and most efficient.
The Knicks have finally found their franchise star, their franchise point guard, and a guy who could end up being one of the best players in franchise history once it’s all said and done.
