For the first time in a long time, the Los Angeles Clippers walked away with a win on Sunday.
LA’s 135-129 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies wasn’t just great because it helped them with their standing in the Western Conference but also because it put an end to a five-game losing streak.
Following the game, Kawhi Leonard spoke with the press about the much-needed W.
According to Farbod Esnaashari, Leonard said, “I’m not thinking that we lost five in a row. It’s about that possession, it’s about that moment.”

It is clear that Leonard is focused on the present, the here and now, instead of the rocky road the team has been on.
Over the last few months, the Clippers have gotten themselves into a tricky situation.
They are now the eighth team in their conference.
Many people thought that this would be their year so the fact that they are so far from the top spot is troubling and challenging and it raises questions about the team’s future.
What happens if the Clippers don’t make it far in the playoffs?
What happens if another injury strikes and ruins their chances?
That could lead to serious changes to the roster and coaching staff.
But Leonard isn’t thinking about that – his comments show that he’s just going to keep his eyes set on one game at a time.
The Sunday night win over the Grizzlies was the first of the Russell Westbrook era.
Is Westbrook finally adding to the team’s chances of success?
Can we expect to see more wins in the near future or will the rough patch continue for the Clippers?
