The Phoenix Suns are struggling with injuries right now, and they needed someone to step up on the glass.
Jusuf Nurkic was up to the task.
His availability for Sunday’s game was in doubt because of the neck injury that kept him off the court in the second half of their loss to the Houston Rockets on Saturday.
Yet it seems like he had an extra boost of energy or was craving to have a chance to get back on the floor, as he dominated the glass like few players in NBA history.
He had 15 rebounds midway through the first half, and he finished the game with a whopping 31 rebounds, a new franchise record.

As shown by the NBA on Twitter, he grabbed the most rebounds by any player since the 2010-11 season as well.
Nurkic excelled on the offensive glass as well, with 13 of his 31 rebounds giving his team second chances.
He also had 14 points, four assists, and one block in 32 minutes.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to prevent his team from losing again.
The Suns need to get back to full strength, as they’ve shown that they’re more than capable of beating any team in a seven-game series when they’re all on the court.
