The Minnesota Vikings entered the season projected to be either the 3rd or 4th team in the NFC North Division.
Not many projections had them even sniffing the playoffs, especially after J.J. McCarthy fell with a season-ending injury.
Fast-forward to today, and they have an NFC-best 14-2 record, the second-best record in the league.
Besides a two-game losing streak after a 5-0 start to the season, the team has been utterly dominant.
That’s why superstar wide receiver has no doubt that Kevin O’Connell should be named Coach of the Year (via Jason Harmon).

Truth be told, it’s very difficult to argue with that logic.
Not long ago, people were speculating whether the Vikings would hit the drawing board, blow the roster up, and rebuild.
Some even suggested that the team explore the trade market for Jefferson, arguably the league’s best wide receiver.
Now, O’Connell has them on the verge of potentially locking down the top seed in the NFC.
O’Connell has done an outstanding job with Sam Darnold, who was once deemed an NFL Draft bust and now looks like an MVP candidate.
Brian Flores also deserves a lot of credit for his work with their defense, but O’Connell needs to get his flowers after doing what he’s done with this team.
The Vikings win on the road.
They win shootouts.
They win defensive slugfests.
They just keep winning, and O’Connell has already established himself as one of the elite young coaches in the game.
