The NFL is a business first and we seem to be reminded of that every offseason.
Dalvin Cook was a workhorse running back for the Minnesota Vikings over the past few seasons.
But, they decided it was best to release Cook this offseason and save themselves from having to pay him.
Well, Cook has finally found a new home as he signed a one-year deal with the New York Jets.
Despite the fallout of the running back market, Cook was still able to sign a deal worth a little over $8 million.
Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson went on the “Rich Eisen Show” to discuss the deal for Cook.
He said he was “happy for Dalvin” and glad he got another opportunity to play.

What's it like playing with and then seeing @dalvincook leave town? And is a 2,000-yard season really possible?

Cook now joins a loaded offense in New York with Aaron Rodgers, Garrett Wilson, and Breece Hall.
The Jets have shown they are going all-in this year and this move was another example of that.
As for the Vikings, they turn their backfield over to Alexander Mattison.
He has been Cook’s primary backup for a few seasons and now he gets his opportunity to start.
Mattison has never eclipsed 500 rushing yards in a season.
Also, the most carries he has had in a year is 134.
It would not be a surprise to see both of those numbers double in 2023.
Minnesota is more than capable of repeating as NFC North champions.
But, it will take another impressive season from Jefferson and company to make them serious threats.
