The New England Patriots have had many incredible players come and go throughout their storied history, particularly over the past couple of decades when they won the Super Bowl six times.
Julian Edelman is one of those greats, and the Super Bowl LIII MVP recently received a significant honor for all he accomplished during his tenure.
The Patriots Hall of Fame announced that Edelman has officially been selected as its 37th member.

Edelman will join several of his former teammates, including Tom Brady, Vince Wilfork, Matt Light and Kevin Faulk.
The wide receiver was with the Patriots for 12 years and won three Super Bowl titles while compiling 6,822 receiving yards and 36 touchdown catches as Brady’s go-to slot receiver for many years.
He became a legend in the postseason, contributing 118 catches for 1,442 yards and five touchdown receptions in 19 playoff games, throwing for a touchdown and rushing for another.
Patriots owner Robert Kraft also released a statement about Edelman’s induction, via NFL.com.
“Julian Edelman is one of the great success stories in our franchise’s history. There aren’t many players who earn an NFL roster spot at a position they have never played before. Julian not only did that as a seventh-round draft selection, but he finished his career with the second-most receptions in franchise history and as a three-time Super Bowl Champion, including his last as Super Bowl MVP,” it read.
Edelman surely won’t be the last of the Patriots dynasty to receive this prestigious honor, as Rob Gronkowski hasn’t been inducted yet.
There is no word whether and when Edelman will be honored in an official ceremony, but this is an incredible achievement for one of the Patriots’ greats.
