For the Denver Broncos to turn things around this fall after a disastrous 2022 season, they will need quarterback Russell Wilson to return to form.
They traded for him last offseason in the hopes that he would get them to the playoffs for the first time since the 2015 campaign, but instead, he turned in the worst season of his career.
The question is whether he played poorly because he turned 34 years of age in November or because the team around him was in shambles.
Joy Taylor says she’s concerned that Wilson doesn’t have the ability to return to form, as she feels his production has been trending downward for a little while.
"I would say that Russ needs to get back to who he was but what version of who he was?… What worries me about the situation is that he's kinda trending down statistically." — @JoyTaylorTalks pic.twitter.com/y3tmWfelO8

Last season, the future Hall of Famer completed just 60.5 percent of his pass attempts and had just 16 touchdown passes.
The year before, his final one with the Seattle Seahawks, he had 3,113 passing yards on a 64.8 percent completion rate.
However, it is important to remember that he missed three games in 2021 with a broken finger and that he still managed to throw 25 touchdown passes and achieve a 103.1 passer rating.
Denver’s offense was blatantly inept in 2022, and there were times when it looked like it was amateur hour for them.
They now have Sean Payton, who used to coach Drew Brees, as their head coach, and the hope is that he will be the defibrillator they badly need for their offense.
Unfortunately, wide receiver Tim Patrick, one of their biggest threats on offense, will be out for the season with a torn Achilles.
