There was lots of talk for most of this season that even though they were winning almost every week, the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs were vulnerable.
Most of their wins were coming by seven points or fewer and by the skin of their teeth, which led some to proclaim that the team couldn’t possibly achieve an unprecedented Super Bowl three-peat.
But on Christmas Day, the Chiefs beat down the Pittsburgh Steelers 29-10 in their most lopsided win of the season, and they looked more like their old selves than they have in a while.
On Fox Sports 1’s “Speak,” Joy Taylor said that they’re “unstoppable.”

That win clinched Kansas City the No. 1 seed in the playoffs through the AFC Championship Game, and as Taylor noted, only one team — the Cincinnati Bengals — has beaten them at Arrowhead Stadium in the playoffs in the previous five seasons.
The Bengals likely won’t be in the playoffs this year, which means the stage could be set for the Chiefs to make history in February as the only team to win three straight Vince Lombardi Trophies.
Versus Pittsburgh on Wednesday, quarterback Patrick Mahomes completed 29 of 38 pass attempts for 320 yards and three touchdowns, and it was one of the few times this season that he has looked like his best self.
Much like last season, his numbers have been subpar by his standards while Kansas City has been winning with defense.
They’re first in points allowed, and they’re also first in third-down conversion percentage, which is undoubtedly because of Mahomes’ uncanny clutch abilities.
To become a true dynasty, a team has to be both great and lucky, and both adjectives perfectly describe Mahomes’ squad right now.
