Over the past few weeks, four-time Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook has been a player that has gotten a lot of buzz around the NFL, as he remains a free agent with only a few more weeks before the start of the 2023 season.
After he was released by the Minnesota Vikings in June, all signs pointed to the Miami Dolphins being the team that would jump at the opportunity to bring in the veteran back to add to an already stacked offense led by quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
For some reason, nothing came to fruition with Cook and the Dolphins, as they might not have been offering the kind of money he was asking for or possibly not the role he wants next season.
Then the New York Jets emerged as the favorite to sign him as they brought him in for a visit shortly after Aaron Rodgers took a massive pay cut, which led to speculation that it was virtually a done deal.
Now there’s no telling what’s going on as Cook is still unsigned, but Joy Taylor argues that Miami is the better fit for the 27-year-old, via “Speak” on FS1.

Taylor makes the argument that the presence of Cook will primarily benefit Tagovailoa next season, as he will be another star player who can take the load off his shoulders in the offense.
The analyst also mentions that Cook is from Miami, which is obviously appealing to any professional athlete to play for his hometown team.
However, the Jets are incredibly appealing as a case can be made that if Cooks signs with New York, the team will be the favorite in the AFC East division and quite possibly the AFC.
It depends on what Cook values most, but he can’t go wrong with either team.
