The Cleveland Browns got off to a good start to the 2023 NFL season as they made easy work of Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1 and seemed to be on the right track.
Even though the team was able to beat the Bengals in convincing fashion to start the season, star quarterback Deshaun Watson left something to be desired, as he didn’t look like a game-changer on the field.
That poor play of Watson’s carried over to Week 2, where the Browns faced off against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who desperately wanted to get their first win after falling to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1.
In two games, Watson has thrown for 389 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions while also rushing for 67 yards and a touchdown.
These stats don’t exactly inspire confidence, as the team is paying Watson a lot of money to be this team’s leader and to be a game-changer offensively, which he continues to struggle to do.
Joy Taylor of FOX Sports believes the Browns brass should be very frustrated with their starting quarterback because he’s not living up to expectations thus far, via “Speak” on FS1.

It’s only two games into the 2023 campaign, and anything can happen moving forward as Watson has plenty of time to turn things around, but things won’t get any easier moving forward, with star running back Nick Chubb now done for the season.
Chubb’s absence in the backfield is a major blow to the Browns’ hopes of being a dominant team offensively, which means the pressure will mount for Watson moving forward.
