When the Green Bay Packers signed Josh Jacobs in free agency, it signaled their preference for running the football and easing the load on Jordan Love.
Love turned in a career year last season, but adding Jacobs gave the offense a legitimate one-two punch in the passing and running games.
Jacobs started the 2024 NFL season slowly, learning the playbook and his fit within the offense.
However, Jacobs eventually found his stride and became a scoring machine, propelling the Packers to a winning record and a spot in the postseason.
Although Green Bay is nearly locked into its postseason spot, Jacobs appeared in Week 18 and scored a rushing touchdown against the Chicago Bears.
Jacobs has been one of the best running backs in the league and is turning in one of the best seasons in franchise history via Ryan Wood of USA Today.
“Josh Jacobs now up to 1,314 yards on the season, passing Jim Taylor’s 1,307 yards in 1961. Jacobs now alone in fifth place for most rushing yards in a #Packers season. His 14 rushing TDs are fifth most. It’s a top five season for a running back in team history,” Wood reported.

Head coach Matt LaFleur was happy to give Jacobs the bulk of the carries in the backfield this past year, and Jacobs delivered with his touches.
Jacobs can wear out defenses and churn out extra yards as a physical and shifty runner.
Now, it will be interesting to see whether Jacobs’ production holds up in the playoffs.
