Many MLB players have spent all spring fighting for a spot on an Opening Day roster.
It has become commonplace in baseball that aging veterans receive minor league contracts with a chance to make the Opening Day roster.
One veteran who was unable to make the Cincinnati Reds’ Opening Day roster is Josh Harrison.
Harrison has been in baseball for 13 seasons and has played on numerous teams.
According to C. Trent Rosecrans on Twitter, Harrison has chosen free agency after not making the Opening Day roster.

This is an obvious move for Harrison who now hopes to get a chance on another team.
If you look around the league there always seem to be utility players that are needed, and Harrison fits the bill.
He can play multiple positions and can add a veteran presence to any locker room.
No player wants to be told they are not good enough to make any MLB roster.
So Harrison is holding onto hope that he can find a team sometime this year.
Keep an eye around the league on teams that suffer injuries during the year.
They may be the ones most likely to sign Harrison to a deal.
Harrison is 36 years old and trying to squeeze every drop out of his baseball career.
But, not many players can say they played in the league for 13 seasons.
That is something to be proud of and an achievement that Harrison can always hang his hat on.
There are many months of baseball ahead and Harrison should be able to find a new home.
