It hasn’t been a very smooth transition from the Milwaukee Brewers to the San Diego Padres for the usually dominant Josh Hader.
His ERA since having joined the Padres is 23.14 and he had yet another implosion yesterday against the Kansas City Royals, allowing six runs in a third of an inning, which took his season ERA up to 6.52.
Hader’s recent stretch of games has been nothing short of a nightmare that keeps getting worse.
In fact, in his last 21 innings of work, Hader has allowed 28 earned runs.
In his previous 38 innings of work, he had not allowed an earned run.

Has Hader Hit Rock Bottom?
One can only wonder why 2022 has been such a difficult season for Hader.
Even the best of the best have bad stretches of play or bad seasons.
But 2022 has been a nightmare scenario for the hard throwing left-hander.
It’s gotten to the point where the Brewers don’t look so crazy for trading him at the deadline.
It has not been a smooth ride for Hader since joining the Padres.
In a shocking turn of events, the once dominant closer has found himself in a terrible spot, having lost the closer’s role not too long after joining his new ballclub.
Perhaps this is rock bottom for Hader.
The Padres can only hope that this is the worst of it, and he can return to his usual dominant self here soon.
They’re going to need him if they plan on making a deep run into October.
He was one of many big pieces acquired by the Padres at the deadline.
The team has yet to find any sort of consistency since making those moves.
We’ll see if he can regain his form.
