It has been a brutal stretch of games for the New York Yankees.
Having once had the best record in all of baseball, the Bronx Bombers had begun to slide and as of today, they have lost five straight series.
But late last night, when trailing 7-4 in the bottom of the 10th inning and on the verge of being swept by the Tampa Bay Rays, they loaded the bases with nobody out for Josh Donaldson.
The Bringer of Rain struck when the Yankees needed him most, hitting a walk-off grand slam off of Rays left-hander Jalen Beeks, which helped New York snap out of their funk and pull off a jaw-dropping comeback.

Donaldson Brings The Rain
Donaldson may have saved the Yankees right there.
Here’s a team that hasn’t been playing up to its potential, has lost several key players due to injuries, and desperately needed a win.
Finally, they got a big hit that may have opened the floodgates, as Donaldson sent one over the right field wall and delivered a much-needed win for the Bronx Bombers.
There was reason for a little concern in the Bronx, as the Yankees had watched their lead in the American League East shrink from 15 games to nine games.
But New York still has command in the division and Donaldson’s home run may have helped them right the ship a little bit.
The Yankees have been in desperate need of a spark, and they may have finally gotten it last night.
And who better to get it from than the Bringer of Rain himself?
The Yankees open up a crucial four-game series with the Toronto Blue Jays tonight, and now we’ll see if Donaldson’s clutch grand slam brought a little momentum in their direction.
