The Cleveland Guardians have not been a team in the news much this MLB season.
That is because they are having a down year and find themselves out of playoff contention.
With less than three weeks left in the season, the Guardians are 7.5 games out of first place in the AL Central.
It seems like all but a guarantee that they will fall short of expectations this year.
But, one player continues to produce no matter how much the team struggles.
That is star third baseman Jose Ramirez.
The man they call “Mr. Lapara” reached an awesome career milestone on Wednesday.
He hit his 215th career home run, which ties Larry Doby for the seventh-most in Guardians history.
It came on a first-inning home run against San Francisco Giants pitcher Kyle Harrison.

Ramirez has been nothing but amazing throughout his MLB career.
He is consistently one of the most underrated players in the sport.
In five of the last six seasons, Ramirez has finished at least top-six in the AL MVP voting.
While he is having a “down year” in the power department (23 home runs), Ramirez can affect the game in many other ways.
Ramirez is only 30 years old and still has many more good seasons ahead of him.
The all-time leader in home runs for the Guardians is Jim Thome with 337.
It may take some time, but if Ramirez remains in Cleveland for the rest of his career he can reach that total.
