Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve is making history with his hitting ability.
In fact, Astros fans can’t help but compare him with another historically great second baseman: Hall of Famer Craig Biggio.
Altuve still does not have the kind of career Biggio had, but he could get there at some point with time.
Altuve’s latest record, in fact, involved Houston’s favorite infielder.
“Jose Altuve recorded his 34th career 4-hit game, which is tied with Craig Biggio for the most in Astros franchise history,” Shaq Sullivan, in charge of the franchise communications, tweeted.

At 32 and still at the peak of his physical abilities, it’s safe to say Altuve will likely break that record eventually.
When he gets into a groove, getting him out becomes an impossible task for opposing pitchers.
The Heart And Soul Of The Astros
He has been incredible in regular season play, and seems to thrive in the postseason, too.
This year, the 68-38 Astros seem on their way to the playoffs yet again.
They have played three of the last five World Series, winning one.
Altuve has been behind a lot of that October success.
The second baseman was actually elected to be the starter at second base for the American League team in the All-Star, but had to withdraw because of an injury and Andres Gimenez of the Cleveland Guardians ended up starting.
Before Thursday’s games, Altuve is hitting .280/.365/.510 with 19 home runs, 60 runs scored, nine stolen bases, and 3.3 Wins Above Replacement (WAR).
He could finish his career around 3,000 hits, 300 home runs, and 400 steals, with good defense and a winning aura.
The end of the line, however, is still far away for Altuve: he should still have several productive years left in him.
