The Houston Astros may have lost on Monday night, falling 5-1 against the Miami Marlins at loanDepot Park.
But that didn’t stop Jose Altuve from performing a nice act of generosity and kindness.
In Miami, there were several Astros fans that made the trip to loanDepot Park who were in attendance on Monday night.
At the end of the game, Altuve approached a section of Astros fans to sign autographs.
The star second baseman noticed a young child.
Instead of signing for him, he took off his game-worn jersey and gave it to the kid.
On Twitter, Foul Territory posted the video of this exchange.

After receiving the jersey, the young fan burst into tears of joy as he was overcome with emotion by Altuve’s act of kindness.
He was so overcome in fact that he buried his face in the jersey to wipe away his tears.
The young fan then looked at the camera and exclaimed “I love him!”
It’s safe to say that Altuve made this young fan’s night.
He knew what the kid wanted and ultimately gave him the gift of a lifetime.
Not many people can say that they received a game-worn jersey from one of the greatest players to ever play the game, but this young fan now can.
This is a very generous act by Altuve, and it’s a moment that this young fan will remember for the rest of his life and cherish for years to come, as he received a jersey from a future Hall of Famer.
