A couple of years ago, Jordan Poole was riding high as a young player who was a big contributor to the Golden State Warriors’ most recent NBA championship.
But since then, he has regressed, particularly in the area of shooting efficiency.
However, he told the media that he has nothing to prove as the new NBA regular season kicks off, per NBACentral.

During the 2022-23 season, his fourth in the NBA, Poole increased his scoring average to a career-high 20.4 points a game, but he shot just 43.0 percent from the field and 33.6 percent from 3-point range after shooting 44.8 percent overall and 36.4 percent from downtown the previous season.
The Warriors, who were the defending champions that season, had trouble winning on the road and exited in the second round of the playoffs.
Poole was then traded to the Washington Wizards in July 2023 in the deal that brought Golden State Chris Paul, and his shooting percentages dropped even lower as he dealt with playing on the team that finished with the NBA’s second-worst record.
The Wizards’ prospects don’t look much better for this season, and therefore, one has to wonder if Poole could get traded again, either before the trade deadline or this summer.
If he can figure out how to shoot at an acceptable rate, he could be a positive asset for a team that needs that one more piece in order to contend.
After all, he has that world championship ring, and he shot 50.8 percent and 39.1 percent from downtown in 22 games during the 2022 postseason as the Warriors won it all for the fourth time in the Stephen Curry era.
