Contrary to popular belief, the Green Bay Packers may have one of the best quarterbacks in the game. Jordan Love has taken a big leap in his third year as a starter, and he’s playing the best football of his career.
His stats actually back up that case, and he is on pace for an elite career season.
According to Ross Uglem, Love is projected to throw for 4,116 yards with 26 touchdowns and just five interceptions, while completing 68.0 percent of his passes.
He is leading the league in EPA per play. He’s also third in EPA + CPOE Composite, fourth in adjusted completion percentage, and fifth in ESPN QBR, PFF Passing Grade, and Big Time Throw percentage.

This is despite head coach Matt LaFleur seemingly trying to hold back one of the best gunslingers in the game. Granted, Love has a history of erratic throws and putting the ball in harm’s way, but he’s looked much more mature and has made better decisions this season.
The Packers have the weapons to have one of the most explosive offenses in the league. They need to unleash Love and allow him to play in a more vertical offense. With running back Josh Jacobs banged up and the offensive line failing to establish the run, putting the ball in Love’s hands might actually be their safest path right now.
