The Chicago Bears have been in the headlines a lot since the 2023 NFL season came to an end, with the Kansas City Chiefs beating the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl recently.
The Bears own the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft for the second straight year, which has directed the attention to quarterback Justin Fields once again and whether the team is all in on the soon-to-be 25-year-old.
Even though last year the Bears gave Fields a vote of confidence by choosing to trade the pick, this year it seems the team’s brass is going in the other direction with USC superstar quarterback Caleb Williams there for the taking at No. 1.
Although the Bears have yet to make their decision public, the consensus is that the team will trade Fields and bring in Williams to start fresh and begin to build around the promising young quarterback.
Despite Chicago more than likely moving on from Fields, former Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel took to Twitter and said he believes the quarterback is underrated.
“Without a doubt J Fields is underrated. That boy is a savage on the gridiron,” Manziel said.

There’s no doubt that Fields is a talented quarterback with a potentially bright future ahead in the NFL, but he’ll likely have to start over somewhere else.
However, Fields will probably have no shortage of suitors, as he’s still a quarterback that a team can build around and there are a few franchises around the league that need a quarterback of his caliber like the Atlanta Falcons, Las Vegas Raiders, and Washington Commanders to name a few.
