The MLB offseason is coming to an end.
As we enter March, the MLB regular season will begin at the end of the month, yet there are still a lot of players who have not signed.
MLB free agency is unlike any other sport.
Some top free agents just sit on the market weeks before the season begins.
One player who is hoping for another opportunity to play in 2024 is Joey Votto.
The former NL MVP has not received any calls from teams around the league and as of now, it looks like he will not be playing in 2024.
Votto took to social media to discuss how that makes him feel.
He posted a picture on Twitter of him looking sad with the caption “missing ball.”

Someone needs to sign this man.
He may be 40 years old, but he is only two years removed from a 36-homer season.
One problem that has arisen with Votto is that he has been often injured in the last two seasons.
He has played a total of 156 games over the last two seasons.
As Votto gets older he seems to be sacrificing average for power.
Last season, he played 65 games and hit 14 home runs, but his batting average was .202.
Still, if a team needs a DH with power, Votto could fit the bill.
At this stage in his career, Votto is a part-time player.
But, he can still be valuable, especially as a veteran in the clubhouse.
MLB is better when Votto is playing, so hopefully, some team will give him a shot this season.
