Two St. Louis Cardinals icons officially played their last game at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati last night.
Albert Pujols and Yadier Molina, both of whom are retiring at the end of the 2022 season, suited up for one final game in Cincinnati last night.
They went out on a high note, with Molina picking up a hit and Pujols driving in the winning run with a sacrifice fly as St. Louis defeated the Reds, 5-3, in 13 innings.
Before the game, Joey Votto, who is out for the remainder of the season due to rotator cuff surgery, took to Twitter to share a little message with Reds fans, urging them to appreciate what these two legends have done for the game of baseball.
It is the last game in Cincinnati for two St. Louis Cardinals icons tonight. Albert Pujols and Yadier Molina have given us many great moments here in the Queen City. Please consider joining me in appreciation for the experience of competing against two of baseballs greats.

Reds Fans Honor Two Cards Greats
It’s hard to believe it, but in a few months, Pujols and Molina will both be retired, and potentially Adam Wainwright along with them.
These two stars have been fixtures in Cardinals uniforms for such a long time.
What made last night even sweeter is that the two of them actually got standing ovations from the Cincinnati faithful after years of being hated by them.
Molina especially was a guy that Reds fans loved to hate, given his track record of success against them.
But Reds fans set all of that aside last night and followed Votto’s advice, taking time to honor these two Cardinals legends and future first-ballot Hall-of-Famers.
Baseball is going to look a lot different without these guys next year, as will the Cardinals.
Fans in St. Louis should take every opportunity to see these two greats on the field one more time before they retire.
Everywhere Pujols and Molina go for the rest of the season, there will be nothing but love, even from opposing fanbases.
