After winning the NBA MVP award for the first time in his career, superstar center Joel Embiid was able to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to Game 7 of the second round of the NBA playoffs against the Boston Celtics.
Unfortunately, Embiid and company came up short on Sunday in Boston, with fellow superstar Jayson Tatum putting on a show in front of the Celtics faithful at TD Garden.
Tatum scored an NBA record 51 points in a Game 7, breaking the record that Golden State Warriors legend Stephen Curry just set with the 50 he dropped on the Sacramento Kings in Game 7 of their first-round playoff series.
Unlike the last few years, Embiid seemed calm, cool, and collected in his postgame press conference after falling to the Celtics while channeling Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks via Hoop Central.

Embiid is coming off his best season yet for the 76ers, as he inched a step closer to getting that elusive NBA title while being the face of the Philadelphia franchise.
Unfortunately, Game 7 was forgettable, to say the least, for Embiid, who scored 15 points on 5-of-18 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds.
Although it was an ugly end to the postseason for Embiid, the future may be bright in Philadelphia if James Harden sticks around and Tyrese Maxey continues to improve.
The real question now is whether the team decides to part ways with head coach Doc Rivers to bring in a new voice, which this team could probably use moving forward, especially with some big-name coaches like Nick Nurse, Mike Budenholzer, and Monty Williams being available.
