After a season filled with notable injuries, Embiid swears that he’s going to be better in 2024-25.
Speaking to the press, via PHLY Sixers, Embiid stated that he’s going to be careful to not push himself too hard while listening to his body and also turning to his teammates and coaches in order to avoid injuries.
“They gotta save me from myself,” he said, before adding, “If they have to punch me and slap me, take my stuff away from me not to get on that court, they’re gonna have to do it.”

Embiid’s 2023-24 was devastated by injuries.
He was likely on his way to another MVP trophy but ended up getting hurt and only participated in 39 games.
There was great controversy about him missing out on MVP as well as his rushed return to the court, which likely only made his physical problems worse.
Once again, when he returned for the playoffs, Embiid looked wiped out, aching, and not like his regular self.
He claims that won’t be the case this year and is taking a different approach to how he treats his body.
Even though he was busy with Team USA at the Olympics, Embiid found time to lose a lot of weight and get in great shape.
He looks slimmed down, happy, and healthy, which are all good signs.
But the NBA season is long and Embiid will need to remain incredibly committed if he doesn’t want history to repeat itself.
