The Philadelphia 76ers have gotten off to a pretty good start in 2023-24.
They barely lost their first game against the Milwaukee Bucks but then did well over the Toronto Raptors and easily put down the Portland Trail Blazers after that.
The team’s most important player, Joel Embiid, spoke about its success on Sunday night, according to a new video shared by Sam DiGiovanni.
Embiid talked about the new direction of the team’s offense, saying that he and head coach Nick Nurse agree that plans should revolve around ball and player movement.
Embiid jokingly said that he’s the team’s new point guard.
Joel Embiid on being more directive in the offense: [jokingly] “I’m a point guard.”
He then goes more into detail about asking Nick Nurse to install an offense with ball and player movement and how the Sixers need to continue growing with those ideas in mind: pic.twitter.com/aIu7rV43hF

Now is the perfect time for the team to approach games differently.
With Nurse now on board, the Sixers can change how they win games and put behind the strategies that Doc Rivers had for years.
Ball and player movement have always been part of the team’s plans but more emphasis on that can help, especially in such a strong, physical, and athletic Eastern Conference.
A focus on movement will also be perfect for James Harden, who could be returning to the team in a matter of days.
Harden has always been a quick mover so he will immediately adapt to this change.
So far, Embiid looks very comfortable on the court: the reigning MVP has scored in double digits for all three games so far and scored over 30 for the last two games.
He is obviously picking up where things left off last year.
Embiid has always wanted to win the Finals and is willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen.
Nurse, Embiid, and the rest of the Sixers could be forging a new path to a championship.
