Brandon Hyde has had tremendous success over the past two seasons at the helm of the Baltimore Orioles.
Last season, the O’s rose from 110 losses to win 83 games and finish just three games back of the final Wild Card spot in the American League.
Baltimore has the second-best record in the AL behind the Tampa Bay Rays.
Many years ago, however, Hyde was the bench coach of the Chicago Cubs and was with the team when they won the World Series in 2016.
On MLB Network, Joe Maddon, who managed the Cubs that season, discussed what Hyde has been able to do with the Orioles and offered some high praise for his old friend.

Maddon recalled his time with Hyde and expressed how close the two are from their time in Chicago.
The former World Series champion manager stated that the Orioles are currently a fun team to watch, and praised them for their ability to play sound fundamental baseball as a group.
Maddon also expressed how impressed he is with Hyde for how he has brought them together and helped transform them into a contender.
The former Cubs manager even took note of how Hyde simply lets them be themselves and have fun playing baseball.
Baltimore currently has a five-game lead in the Wild Card race and sits just two games back of the Rays in the AL East.
Finally, Maddon offered some more praise for Hyde for having a sharp baseball mind and not missing anything important as he navigates the Orioles through the 2023 season.
