After playing in only 10 games last season before suffering a wrist injury that required season-ending surgery, Cincinnati Bengals superstar quarterback Joe Burrow was hoping to head into the 2024 NFL regular season and help right the ship for the franchise that has been considered one of the best teams in the league over the last few years.
Unfortunately for Burrow, the Bengals have not been able to put it together on the football field during the 2024 campaign, especially on the defensive side of the football, with Cincinnati sporting a record of 1-4 coming into Week 6’s matchup against the New York Giants on the road at MetLife Stadium.
It’s a frustrating situation for Burrow, to say the least, as he is finally healthy and back to form as an elite quarterback in the NFL, but the defense hasn’t been able to hold leads, which has proven costly, as Cincinnati continues to lose close games on a weekly basis.
According to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic, Burrow thinks he’s playing the best football of his career so far this season but admits that he can get better because the football is not coming out of his hand the way he wants it to.
Burrow says he does believe he is playing the best football of his career.
But admits it can still get even better because he’s not totally throwing the ball the way he wants.

Fortunately for Burrow and the Bengals, there’s still time to turn things around this season, but they’ll need to go on a hot streak in order to improve their chances of being playoff-bound because winning the AFC North division title might be out of the question.
The Bengals will have a good opportunity to get back on track as they’ll play the Giants, who have had trouble getting anything going this year, especially with rookie star Malik Nabers on the mend.
