During the NFL Honors last night, there were many awards handed out across the league for various accolades.
One of which was an award that will be celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2023, which awards a quarterback and running back for their contributions throughout the season.

Joe Burrow and Josh Jacobs took home the FedEx Air and Ground Players of the Year awards last night.
This was the first time receiving this award for either player.
Jacobs led the entire NFL in rushing yards this season, ending the year with 1,653.
This was just 115 yards ahead of Saquon Barkley, who had a fantastic season in his own right.
Jacobs finished the year with 12 rushing touchdowns, which was tied for third place in the league.
He is also credited with the season’s longest rushing touchdown, which was an impressive 86-yard scamper, and was also the league leader in rushing first downs.
Burrow, on the other hand, was brilliant in the passing game this season.
He was fifth in total passing yards, tied for second in touchdown passes, and was one of the league leaders in completion percentage.
The Cincinnati Bengals found their way to a second consecutive AFC Championship this season, which has been largely attributed to Burrow’s heroics.
He has turned the Bengals organization around, and the team is on a trajectory to be one of the teams to beat in the AFC.
While Burrow didn’t receive any first-place votes for MVP last night, the FedEx Air Player of the Year award is no small feat.
