It has been an incredible run for the Miami Heat up to this point in the NBA playoffs, with the storied franchise defying the odds in a classic underdog story fashion, as the team has gone from the Play-in Tournament to the NBA Finals.
Although star forward Jimmy Butler has had an amazing postseason, it appears he’s been doing it with a heavy heart, as Skip Bayless of Fox Sports claims that the 33-year-old’s father is not doing well at the moment via NBA Central.

Obviously, this is incredibly vague as there has been no clarity on Butler’s father’s condition, nor will we likely get one, but he’s going through a lot, as it must be tough to focus when your mind and heart are elsewhere.
After the Eastern Conference Finals, in which Butler won Eastern Conference Finals MVP, he admitted he had given the Larry Bird Trophy to his father in a conversation with Malika Andrews of ESPN.
Malika Andrews: “Where is the Eastern Conference Finals MVP trophy now?”
Jimmy Butler: “With my dad. I gave it to him. I don’t need it.”

Fortunately for Butler, the Heat were able to get a win on Sunday night in Denver before the series shifted to Miami for Game 3 and Game 4.
It will likely help to be closer to home for the next two games of the Finals as Butler tries to take a few steps closer to winning his first NBA title and finally lifting the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
Although the Heat were able to hand the Nuggets their first loss at home during these NBA playoffs, Miami will have a tall task ahead to hold off Nikola Jokic and company in the next two games before the series heads back to the Mile High City for Game 5.
