The stage is set for an epic battle in the NBA Finals between one of the greatest underdog stories in league history and a team looking to win its first title in the history of its franchise.
The Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets will get things started on Thursday night, with Game 1 being played in the Mile High City at Ball Arena.
In typical Jimmy Butler fashion, the star forward for the Heat isn’t one for flamboyant outfits like a lot of players around the league, but one shirt with a simple message for his team facing an uphill battle once again in the NBA playoffs.
Butler wore a t-shirt ahead of Game 1 with a simple and profound message, via Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.

As usual, the Heat will be underdogs once again coming into this seven-game series, with the Nuggets favored to win it all with two-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic leading the way for Denver.
Even though Miami faces long odds to get what would be the franchise’s fourth NBA title, the Heat seem up for the task and willing to prove their doubters wrong one more time during this postseason run.
As for the Nuggets, Denver comes into Game 1 well-rested after making easy work of the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Finals, where they pulled off the sweep in four games against LeBron James’ squad.
Although the Nuggets are favored, the Heat can’t be counted out in this series, which will almost certainly make for an entertaining showdown in the Finals.
