It’s clear that it is unclear who will be the starting quarterback in Indianapolis for the 2020 season.
During Sunday’s press conference in Indy, Colts owner Jim Irsay discussed the team’s options at quarterback.
Irsay claimed that “all options are on the table.”

All in all, here are the highlights.
Jacoby Brissett Needs Time To Develop
When Andrew Luck abruptly retired during the preseason, the Colts weren’t in complete disarray.
The team had Brissett as the backup, who was forced into the starting role.
Brissett had an okay campaign, finishing 2019 with a completion percentage of 60.9%, 2,942 passing yards, 18 touchdowns, six interceptions, and a passer rating of 88.0.
Irsay said that Brissett needs time to develop, but did not guarantee that he will get that chance with the Colts.

The Other Options
The Colts have been rumored to be an option for upcoming free agent Phillip Rivers.
Rivers, who has played his whole career for the Los Angeles Chargers, wants to play for a contender.
The 38-year old quarterback has been rumored to be a coveted Colts free agent due to the outstanding offensive line in Indy.
Another option includes the draft.
When Irsay was talking about the draft, he left the door open for a big splash come draft day.
“The draft is gonna contain mysteries… Some of them related to health and that sort of thing.”

Irsay also mentioned that the door remains open for Luck to return to the team; however, he said he hasn’t spoken to Luck about it.
According to XFL commissioner Oliver Luck, who is also the father of Andrew, his son is enjoying being out of the public eye.
Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson?
Irsay claimed that the Colts nearly keyed in on Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson in the 2012 NFL Draft.
The Colts selected Luck with the first pick of the draft, and apparently looked at Wilson in the fourth round.

Wilson was selected with the 75th overall pick in the third round.
Since then, Wilson has taken the Seahawks to two Super Bowls, while winning the championship in 2014.
Meanwhile, the Colts have not made the Super Bowl since winning it all in 2006 with Peyton Manning.
