The Colts have struggled with the quarterback position, as they haven’t had a consistent starter since Peyton Manning was at the helm.
With any luck, they will be able to find their new franchise quarterback either in free agency or in the upcoming draft.
It appears that Irsay is a fan of Bryce Young, who is a former Heisman Trophy winner for the University of Alabama.
However, the Colts only hold the fourth overall pick, which might not be early enough to draft Young.
Currently, the Chicago Bears, Houston Texans, and Arizona Cardinals are slated to pick ahead of the Colts.
The Texans are in serious need of a quarterback and could be in on the Young sweepstakes as well.
Thankfully for the Colts, this year’s draft class has been said to be one of the best for quarterbacks in the past several years.
If for some reason they are unable to get Young, they will have an opportunity for prospects like Anthony Richardson, Will Levis, or C.J. Stroud.
The coming weeks could provide a lot of drama in the NFL, as teams might attempt to trade up to get their favorite prospect.
