After hiring former University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh as their new leader on the sideline, the Los Angeles Chargers were a team expected to be much improved during the 2024 NFL season, as many believed this team needed a boost in leadership.
Along with needing to get back on track in the post-Brandon Staley era, Harbaugh has a proven track record of turning teams around both on the NFL and college levels, making him the ideal candidate to be the new head coach in Los Angeles.
Harbaugh’s leadership and coaching style is unique, to say the least, as he has no problem saying anything publicly, whether it is propping up one of his players or calling out his team.
On Monday, Harbaugh went out of his way to give high praise to superstar quarterback Justin Herbert, who he thinks highly of, which was very apparent on The Herd with Colin Cowherd.
“He is the toughest quarterback in the history of the National Football League,” Harbaugh said.

Even though the Chargers had a rough stretch during the beginning of the season with three losses in four games, Los Angeles is coming off consecutive wins against the New Orleans Saints and Cleveland Browns, which has put a smile on Harbaugh’s face.
The Chargers might not be considered a serious threat in the AFC right now, but the team does show potential when Herbert is playing at a high level consistently, which he’s more than capable of when healthy.
