The New York Jets’ new era is finally underway.
Aaron Rodgers is practicing with the team, so it is finally real.
That’s why even a budding star in this league like Garrett Wilson was completely star-struck after his first practice with the four-time MVP.
The reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year claimed that it all sunk in when he was out there, adding that he’ll now get to tell his kids that he practiced with the legendary Aaron Rodgers, as shared by SNY Jets.
Garrett Wilson says it didn't sink in that Aaron Rodgers would be the Jets' quarterback until he caught the first pass from him at practice:

The Jets were one of the most improved teams in the league last season, but they still needed to get better at the QB position to be a legit contender.
It must be hard for Zach Wilson to hear the entire fanbase, coaching staff, and even fellow teammates rave and celebrate after finding his replacement, but it is what it is.
Rodgers is a Super Bowl champion and one of the most talented passers in the history of this game, so he would’ve been an upgrade over nearly every single quarterback in the league, Wilson obviously included.
Now, all he can do is stay patient and start taking notes and soak in as much as he can from his time sitting behind this future Hall of Famer.
He’s still young, and there’s a chance he’s not done in this league, even if his next opportunity doesn’t come in Gotham.
As for Garrett Wilson, it’s nice to see that he’s already developing rapport with his new QB1, as they could be one of the most explosive combinations in the league in 2023.
