New York Jets fans have to be feeling like the franchise is cursed as they saw Aaron Rodgers go down on the field in the first series of their Week 1 matchup against the Buffalo Bills.
Rodgers took a sack from Leonard Floyd and sat on the turf for a while, indicating that he was hurt.
The quarterback had to be helped off the field and was later ruled out for the remainder of the game.
Zach Wilson was then thrust into the action and the young signal caller struggled at first to get into a rhythm against the Buffalo defense.
However, Wilson managed to hold his own and later had his moment as he found Garrett Wilson for a touchdown in the fourth quarter that forced overtime.
New York would go on to win the game and afterward, Breece Hall publicly supported Wilson as the team’s quarterback going forward via his Twitter account.
“We ALL believe in 2,” Hall tweeted.

With Rodgers out for the year after being diagnosed with a ruptured Achilles, Wilson has a great opportunity in front of him.
The former No. 2 overall pick has looked like a bust so far in his NFL career, but he can change the narrative if he is somehow able to keep the Jets in the playoff race.
Having a veteran like Rodgers at his side will surely help, but Wilson has a lot to prove given what he’s shown so far.
Hopefully, he’s up to the task as New York’s schedule for the next month is rather difficult.
