The New York Jets and Aaron Rodgers have still been unable to get a deal done, and he remains a member of the Green Bay Packers.
Although this deal is not official yet, many are expecting ink to hit the paper before the 2023 NFL Draft.
Jets fans are anxiously awaiting Rodgers’ arrival, given their current playoff drought.
While Rodgers could help the Jets get back to the playoffs, NFL analyst Rich Cimini has identified one glaring need for the Jets.
🏈#Jets daily draft nugget:
Protecting presumptive QB Aaron Rodgers should be a priority. Over last 3 seasons, he ranks 21st in QBR, 25th in comp pct + 27th in 1st-down pct when PRESSURED.
Not pressured: Ranks 2nd, 4th + 4th in those categories, respectively. @ESPNStatsInfo

Cimini asserts that building a strong offensive line is a key area for the Jets if they want any chance for success next season.
As he points out, when Rodgers has had a clean pocket, he is second, fourth, and fourth in QBR, completion percentage, and first-down percentage, respectively.
However, the same cannot be said about Rodgers’ performance when he is pressured.
Ultimately, Cimini believes that if the Jets can protect Rodgers, he’ll be able to be successful.
He has proven to be successful when protected in the past.
Although the Jets have a strong defense, the offensive line is where they struggled in 2022.
According to PFF’s grades at the end of the season, the Jets offensive line was second-to-last in the entire league.
If they use the remainder of the offseason to build their line, both through free agency and the draft, Rodgers will be given the best opportunity possible.
Of course, this is all contingent on this deal being completed.
When will Rodgers officially become a member of the Jets?
