New England Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye had an encouraging performance in last Sunday’s loss to the Houston Texans.
In his first career start, he threw for over 240 yards and three touchdowns, along with a couple of interceptions.
Maye did pop up on the injury report this week with a knee injury, but head coach Jerod Mayo is seemingly not overly concerned.
“I’m not going to get into the medical,” Mayo said in front of the New England media this week.
According to insider Ben Volin, Mayo is not concerned about Maye being able to start this week in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Jerod Mayo when asked about my report of an MRI for Drake Maye (knee) this week: “I’m not going to get into the medical.”

The last thing that Mayo and Co. would want is the future of their franchise going down with a knee injury.
He is showing too much promise, even after just one game.
After sitting on the bench and learning from veteran Jacoby Brissett for the beginning part of the season, Maye gave Pats fans something to cheer about on Sunday.
Despite the interceptions, the former North Carolina Tar Heel showed off plenty of moments of brilliance in a game against a top-tier team.
Heading into this Sunday’s matchup across the pond against the 1-5 Jacksonville Jaguars, Maye has a chance to lead his team to victory for the first time in his NFL career.
That is the next step in the process of getting him acclimated to life in the NFL.
The success of the season up in New England hinges on the health and productivity of the former No. 3 overall pick.
