After starting the season with the Toronto Raptors, Otto Porter Jr. was then traded to the Utah Jazz in February.
However, Porter has never played a game for the Jazz – and never will.
Shams Charania is reporting that the Jazz are waiving Porter.

Now in his 11th season in the NBA, Porter was the third overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft after going to school at Georgetown.
He started his career with the Washington Wizards and then moved to the Chicago Bulls, Orlando Magic, Golden State Warriors, and finally the Raptors.
At the peak of his career, Porter was scoring nearly 15 points and 7 rebounds per game.
Since then, his output has diminished and he has become a part of the second unit of multiple teams.
Porter is just 30 years old and has a lot that he can bring to many teams.
He is a strong three-point shooter and could be acquired for a rather inexpensive contract.
But it’s not clear if any team is going to jump at the chance to sign him or if he will ride out the rest of 2023-24 without a home in the NBA.
Because of NBA rules, Porter will not be eligible for the playoffs with a team because he was waived after March 1.
That means that he could still join a team, he just couldn’t participate in the postseason.
The waiving of Porter wasn’t a huge surprise considering it has been reported that they will sign two big men, Darius Bazley and Kenneth Lofton Jr.
There simply wasn’t any room for Porter after those moves.
