The Boston Celtics keep pushing.
Joe Mazzulla’s team got the best of the slumping Minnesota Timberwolves in a matchup between two of the best young players in the league.
As per usual, Anthony Edwards talked a lot of trash during the game, poking fun at Jayson Tatum and trying to get into his head.
However, that did little to help his team.
Tatum had 26 points, eight rebounds, four assists, five three-pointers, and two steals in the two-point win.
When asked about Edwards’ antics, Tatum dismissed any narrative about a potential beef, stating that they talked a lot of trash to each other during the summer and bragging about his record against the Timberwolves (via Daniel Donabedian):
“I love Ant,” Tatum said. “I got a pretty good record against Minnesota in my career.”

Tatum is 12-1 against the Timberwolves.
He also has one ring, so as much as Edwards can nag him over his DNPs with Team USA in the Olympics, Tatum still holds bragging rights over him.
Edwards also had a solid performance in the loss.
He paced his team with 28 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists, hitting six three-pointers on 43% from the floor.
Unfortunately for him, his supporting cast hasn’t always lived up to the expectations.
Losing Karl-Anthony Towns has been a massive blow to this team, and while Julius Randle’s numbers have been solid, his fit next to Rudy Gobert has been rather questionable.
The Timberwolves entered the season as a potential dark horse to come out of the Western Conference.
But with an 8-8 record after 16 games, the sentiment about them has changed drastically.
