Jayson Tatum has come bursting into the new season and is making a statement.
The Boston Celtics star has been doing tremendous things so far and may only be getting started.
According to Adam Taylor, Tatum leads the league in first-quarter scoring during four games.
He has posted 54 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists, and is shooting 53.3% from the three-point range.
On top of all that, he is second in total minutes, only behind Paolo Banchero of the Orlando Magic.
Is Tatum really starting his MVP season?

It was assumed Tatum would play very well in 2024-25 because he’s a supremely talented player.
But a number of things happened recently that had people assuming he could far exceed even the most favorable expectations.
There were some criticisms of his performance last season, including during the playoff run that led to Boston’s first championship win in years.
The fact that Jaylen Brown won both Eastern Conference Finals MVP and Finals MVP was a big deal to many who said it showed Tatum wasn’t the best choice for Boston.
But then Tatum traveled with Team USA for the Paris Olympics and spent most of his time on the bench.
This led to fans speculating that Tatum would have something to prove in the new season.
He’s definitely proving a lot so far and the Celtics could be returning to the Finals while Tatum could earn his first MVP trophy.
These numbers prove Tatum is starting each game with a bang but he is a strong and amazing player for every minute he’s on the court.
