Coming into the 2023 NFL season, a strong case can be made that the Dallas Cowboys have the best defense in the league, led by superstar linebacker Micah Parsons.
The Cowboys are stacked on both sides of the football this year, but the defense will likely steal all the headlines as Dallas tries to win the NFC East division title and finish the 2023 campaign on top of the NFC.
Even though Parsons has only played two seasons thus far for the Cowboys, he’s already getting some remarkable comparisons to some of the best defensive players ever to play the game.
Although it’s not the first time he’s gotten this comparison, Parsons will almost certainly be flattered to be compared to NFL legend Lawrence Taylor by former teammate Jaylon Smith, who recently made an appearance on Up & Adams.
"…the closest thing to Lawrence Taylor."
Is @MicahhParsons11 the best defensive player in football?

In consecutive seasons, Parsons has recorded 13 sacks or more, with the former Penn State star coming off a career-high 13.5 sacks in 2022, which helped him earn All-Pro honors for the second straight year.
If Parsons can continue to wreak havoc on the defensive side of the football for the Cowboys, it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that he will compete for NFL Defensive Player of the Year and be mentioned in the same breath as Aaron Donald and Nick Bosa.
The pressure will be on the Cowboys to have a successful season right out of the gate, with the team opening the 2023 campaign against the division rival New York Giants, who will also be looking to take a step forward this year.
