Grant Williams and Jayson Tatum used to be good friends and teammates but it seems that things have changed.
Williams was ejected after an intense shoulder check against Tatum on Friday night during a game between the Charlotte Hornets and Boston Celtics.
After the game, Boston’s Jaylen Brown commented on the incident and made a fairly harsh statement about Williams.
“I thought JT and Grant was friends. I guess not,” Brown said, via Bleacher Report.
“I thought JT and Grant was friends. I guess not.”

With a little more than two minutes left in the game, Tatum grabbed a rebound and was bringing the ball up the court when Williams ran at him and flung his body into his.
He was then immediately called for a Flagrant 2 and ejected.
Williams has always been known as a player who sometimes gets a bit rough on the court but it was surprising to see him do this against someone he used to be so close with.
After the game, Williams said he wasn’t trying to hurt Tatum and still cares for him.
But his actions say otherwise and it’ll be curious to see what happens next time these two teams compete.
Williams spent four seasons with the Celtics and was an important part of the team’s culture.
In fact, some people were shocked when he was sent to the Dallas Mavericks at the start of last season.
He seemingly left the team on good terms but his foul on Friday night may have changed that.
Will Williams be on his best behavior next time these teams meet or is this the beginning of a tense chapter between the Hornets and Celtics?
