The Miami Heat continue to prove their doubters wrong.
Plenty of analysts and fans thought the Denver Nuggets were going to run them off the court with ease, sweeping them and dominating them as they did in Game 1.
Obviously, that wasn’t the case, as the Heat stormed right back in to steal Game 2 on the road and now get home-court advantage in the NBA Finals.
That’s why Jay Williams had no choice but to backpedal and admit that he was wrong in his prediction, saying that he would have to “eat crow” and praising the Heat for their defense and grittiness.

Co-host Max Kellerman added that he still believes this series will be a gentleman’s sweep, but Williams says that he’s not so sure anymore after watching the way Erik Spoelstra’s team is playing defense right now.
Truth be told, it was hard to envision the No. 8 seed making it this far, let alone ending the Nuggets’ remarkable undefeated home streak in the playoffs.
Mike Malone’s side had won nine straight home games in the playoffs this season, and they were up double digits in the second half of this game as well.
Spoelstra continues to establish himself as one of the ultimate tacticians in the game.
His ability to make great reads in real-time and make adjustments in-game is second to none in today’s NBA.
It’ll be interesting to see what tweaks Mike Malone does ahead of his team’s trip to South Beach, and this series could be way more interesting than most people thought it’d be.
