The Boston Red Sox have surprisingly outperformed their expectations this season.
Though they sit at the bottom of the American League East, they only trail the defending World Series champion Houston Astros by a half-game in the Wild Card race.
They’ve received some major contributions from outfielder Jarren Duran.
The 26-year-old outfielder made his MLB debut in 2021 and spent some time with the big-league club in 2022.
This year, he is performing quite well on the offensive side.
Through his first 27 games of the season, Duran has hit for a .351 average, posted a .991 OPS, driven in 18 runs, and picked up 16 extra-base hits.
On Twitter, MLB Network posted a graphic featuring some of Duran’s impressive stats through his first 27 games.

The Red Sox have been a pleasant surprise this season.
After winning just 78 games last season and falling short of the postseason, the team has found themselves back in the thick of the postseason chase.
Duran has certainly been a key contributor for the team, earning a starting job in the outfield and providing some strong offensive numbers as they continue to surprise the rest of the baseball world.
The 26-year-old has been swinging a hot bat for the Red Sox this season.
On Wednesday, he helped carry the Red Sox to a 12-3 blowout victory over the Seattle Mariners, picking up two hits, a walk, and an RBI.
Along with Masataka Yoshida and Alex Verdugo, Duran has helped create a solid Red Sox outfield this season, one that is producing quite well offensively.
