Has Kevin Durant played his last game as a member of the Phoenix Suns?
That is just one of the many questions that fans of the team are asking right now after the Suns’ disappointing season and elimination from playoff contention.
Suns general manager James Jones spoke with the press and made it clear that changes are coming, and suggested that everything is on the table.
“The fact that we aren’t where we want to be from a winning perspective means that we have to look at everything. But a lot of changes that we’ll make will be in the best interest of the team, and we evaluate all those things. And so Kevin [Durant], look, he had a tremendous season. Devin [Booker], Brad [Beal], those guys did great things individually. Right now, we’re just trying to figure out how to collectively move this team forward,” Jones said, via PHNX Suns.

He didn’t come right out and say it, but James knows that Durant – and others – could be leaving this summer.
He doesn’t think Durant is a bad player, but he knows that the Suns might need to part ways with him in order to move forward.
They have dug themselves into such a hole that they don’t have many options.
They are strapped for cash and trade assets, so they are looking to Durant and his contract and seeing him as a way out.
In a perfect world, the Suns would be able to hold onto Durant and keep him on the roster.
But this isn’t a perfect world, and Phoenix will have to make choices that are best for the team and its future, just like James said.
They don’t have much time to figure out what they will do.
The offseason is quickly approaching, and the Suns will have to get to work right away if they want any chance of putting this troubled chapter behind them in 2025-26.
