Philadelphia 76ers superstar guard James Harden has been all over the headlines the last few days after he made some surprising comments about Daryl Morey during an event in China earlier this week.
Earlier in the offseason, Harden was rumored to be considering a return to Philadelphia after many believed he’d opt out of his contract and sign with the Houston Rockets.
Unfortunately for the 76ers, that was far from the case as he opted into the final year of his deal with the team and immediately requested to be traded, with his sights set on playing for his hometown Los Angeles Clippers.
This was a surprising development, but the team got to work on putting a trade together to send him to Los Angeles, but nothing came to fruition, and trade talks were officially called off over the weekend, which many believe prompted this outburst from the usually stoic superstar.
Interestingly enough, in an interview in China, Harden talked about improving his game and pushing himself to be a better player, which is a little out of character, via ClutchPoints.
“Keep pushing every single day… You’re gonna go through some days where you feel like you don’t feel like doing it anymore. Those days make you tough and it makes the top of the mountain much better.”

Harden was likely going through the motions in this interview while getting through some softball questions, but it’s interesting to hear him say things as he’s seemingly done the opposite over the last few years.
As for Harden’s future, only time will tell where he ultimately lands and if things get progressively worse as he tries to push his way out of Philadelphia in an effort to continue his playing career elsewhere in the NBA.
