Jalen Brunson had a phenomenal game on Friday night, scoring a behemoth 61 points for his New York Knicks.
However, one major obstacle got in the way of his team: Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs.
After the game, Brunson spoke about the Rookie of the Year contender and had the highest praise for him.
“He’s gonna be one of the greatest players this game has seen,” Brunson said, via Legion Hoops.

Brunson may have put up 61 points but Wembanyama was having an amazing night all his own on Friday.
He scored 40 points, 20 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 steals against the Knicks, helping his team score an impressive 130-126 victory in overtime.
The season is just about over for the Spurs because they are already eliminated from the playoffs so these games are just a chance for Wembanyama to keep enhancing his skills, get more time on the floor, and prepare for next year.
It seems to be helping because the young star is playing with more confidence, and better communication, and is enjoying more minutes in games too.
Brunson isn’t the only NBA player who is predicting amazing things from Wembanyama in the years to come.
Most people believe that he has wrapped up this season’s Rookie of the Year trophy and they also think he will be securing Defensive Player of the Year in the near future.
Wembanyama came into the league as a potential superstar and has blossomed a lot in just a few months.
His progress is very exciting for Spurs fans, who hope the front office will make some adjustments in the summertime to improve the roster and give their young breakout star more support.
Brunson and many others predict that Wembanyama will be one of the best players in the league soon – the question is just how soon.
