The New York Knicks faced elimination on Wednesday night but they weren’t going down without a serious effort.
In the end, they earned a 112-103 win over the Miami Heat and now trail in the series by a 3-2 margin.
Knicks superstar Jalen Brunson was a huge part of their impressive victory.
He scored 38 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists, shooting 12-of-22 from the floor.
That makes Brunson the first Knick in franchise history to reach those numbers in a playoff game, according to StatMuse.

Brunson wasn’t the only one who played well in the crucial game.
RJ Barrett was wonderful with 26 points and 7 rebounds while Julius Randle posted 24 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Mitchell Robinson also came through with his 11 rebounds.
But it was Brunson who once again led his team.
This is a story we have seen repeatedly throughout the season.
Since joining the Knicks last summer, Brunson has not only become the team’s most pivotal scorer but also a leader on the court in many ways.
He has made the team better but has also exposed some of their weaknesses.
Brunson has reminded Knicks fans that the team lacks other consistent shooters who can score from all over the floor.
However, on Wednesday night it really was a team effort that led to the win.
New York’s quest for the Eastern Conference Finals is far from over.
After Wednesday night, they are still one game behind the Heat and are hoping to even the series on Friday night.
If they can do that, they will return to Madison Square Garden for Game 7 and perhaps overcome what many considered a dooming deficit.
