The Jacksonville Jaguars continue building the staff of first-year head coach Liam Coen.
On Thursday evening, the team found their new defensive coordinator.
According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, the Jaguars have hired former Green Bay Packers linebacker coach and run game coordinator Anthony Campanile.
This will be Campanile’s first time being a defensive coordinator at the NFL level.
The #Jaguars agreed to terms with Anthony Campanile as their defensive coordinator, sources tell The Insiders.
It’s the first NFL DC job for Campanile, who most recently was Green Bay’s linebackers coach/running game coordinator. Now he joins Liam Coe in Jacksonville. pic.twitter.com/nG9kwj2P0Z

Campanile, 42, has been coaching in the NFL for just five seasons.
After spending time primarily as a defensive back and linebacker coach at both Boston College and Michigan, he joined the Miami Dolphins in 2020.
Then, he left for Green Bay before the start of the 2024 season.
He was a key cog in the wheel for defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley in Green Bay this past season.
Linebackers Quay Walker, Edgerrin Cooper, and Isaiah McDuffie had strong seasons, contributing to Green Bay finishing the season ranked in the top 10 of the league in several categories.
Walker recorded 100+ total tackles for the third consecutive season and had a career-best nine tackles for loss.
Cooper, as a rookie, flashed his elite potential as he recorded 87 total tackles and 3.5 sacks.
McDuffie had his best season yet as a pro, as he recorded 97 total tackles and three pass deflections.
Campanile hopes to have the same effect on some of the linebackers in Jacksonville, such as two-time solo tackle leader Foyesade Oluokun, Devin Lloyd, and Ventrell Miller.
Keep an eye on the middle of this Jaguars defense as the 2025 season inches closer.
